Favorite part about working with ATOM:

“Knowing what we are doing is a small piece of a larger picture that will help people with rare disease have options for the future and hopefully, one day, a cure. If something we can do can affect people’s lives for the better, even in the smallest way, it’s worth doing every day.”

Areas of research that excite me the most:

“Rare disease research is most exciting to me, especially when you get to be a part of a program and see it from its inception to the end and see how it affects people’s lives. Especially for those who have limited to no options. I really enjoy getting the opportunity to learn more about these diseases through conferences and being a part of clinical trials.”

Biggest challenge for research in the next five years:

“The advancement of AI and how it will integrate into the research world that is so tightly regulated.”

Fun fact:

“I am a Cincinnati sports fanatic! Some of my favorite sporting events I’ve seen in person were the Cincinnati Bengals beating the Tennessee Titans in Nashville to go to the 2022 AFC Championship game and the UC Bearcats winning at Notre Dame in their 2021 College Football Playoff season.”
